HOLY SMOKES! What a year!

It has officially been one year since I clicked SIGN UP to my WordPress account.

This year long experience has been an incredible one.

One year ago I started my blog – Hypothyroid Archaeologist. At the time I did not really know what I wanted to blog about, just that I wanted to share my life with other like-minded people who struggle through day to day life. See I have two chronic illnesses and because of this I had felt alone for so long. Noone seemed to understand what I was going through and that is what peaked my interest in blogging. It slowly grew from a blog about myself to a blog about archaeology. New discoveries, highs and lows of working, new technologies, what is available for the budding archaeologist, and interesting sights. I posted less and less about my own struggles and more about the things I am passionate about…archaeology and travel. So I changed the name to Heritage Traveler.

On August 8th – only 5 months ago – I took the plunge and signed up to my own domain, started learning SEO, and began writing about my travel and heritage experiences..that is when The Heritage Travels was born.

I would like to send my sincere thanks to our regular visitors, our new visitors, and to everyone who has supported our campaign to enrich peoples lives through travelling the world’s cultural and natural heritage. Our best day in 2014 was on the 21st of October when we had over 2000 visitors checking out our post – Must See Caves Around the World. This post trended for the next week, so thank you to all who read, liked and shared this post!

Blogging has shown me that my passion lies with travel, and I want to become a full-time travel blogger.

I hope to see you all there in my future…

Safe travels. A.
