What to do…
Whether you want to kayak down the Babinda Creek, sail the Great Barrier Reef, skydive on to the beach, hire a bike and follow the bike path along the beautiful beaches, do one of the nature walks, visit the local waterfalls, or visit Dunk Island, one of the countries most beautiful National Parks islands, the amazing choice of attractions at Mission Beach can cater for your entire stay.
There are also a variety of tours on offer when visiting Mission Beach. Anything from eco and extreme tours, to cultural tours, to fishing or Great Barrier Reef expeditions, as well as a very cool nighttime tour of Paronella Park, voted number 1 must do in the RACQ 150 Must Dos. Pictured above is Wallaman Falls, one of the tours takes you around to some of the best waterfalls in northern Queensland including Wallaman.
Events are constantly on in the Mission Beach area. With the ever-changing itinerary it is best to look up the events page on the Mission Beach Tourism website for something that is on during the time you plan to go.
WHAT NOT TO MISS
Paronella Park. Just a short drive from Mission Beach, and easy enough to do during a day trip is Paronella Park. Paronella Park was built by José Paronella, a sugar cane cutter originally from Catalonia, Spain. He saw the 13 acres of paradise along Mena Creek in 1914 and eventually bought it in 1929. The park was built as an attraction.
