In honour of upcoming Remembrance Day you can remember the service of Australian soldiers by stopping and paying respects at one of these memorials.
Charleville War Memorial
Known as one of Australia’s first National Monuments, this 23 foot high marble monument is dedicated to locals from the South Africa War, WWI, WWII, Malayan Emergency, Korean War, and Vietnam War.
Roma War Memorial Heroes Avenue
Heroes Avenue includes an avenue of trees, a cairn, and a cenotaph. The cairn is inscribed with the names of the 93 local men who lost their lives during WWI. These names were originally on the trees in the avenue, which were planted in 1920.
St George Pilots Memorial
The St George Pilots Memorials consists of two sandstone tablets dedicated to two local WWII RAAF pilots.
